People are different, therefore, first establish their base-line
Establishing a base line. [The natural way a person reacts]
Ask positive non-intrusive questions to determine the persons base line
These initial non-intrusive questions would be something along the lines of; ” How do you feel about?, Do you like?, Do you enjoy?”or statements ” I love the winter months because I love the foods and warm clothing – How about yourself?”
Take note of any irregularities for example, the person may have a facial twitch
This could be a cause of a medical condition and not necessary mean the person is displaying an indicator
Keep in mind, the person is in conversation as they could be out of conversation. We know that people think faster than they speak and therefor they may be reacting to a thought and not necessary to the question.
Remember there are only a few positive facial reactions. The majority are negative.
Therefore, when asking positive questions and you see a negative reaction when the person is speaking positively then you know that there is a contradiction
If the person says nothing and is tight lipped
or diverting the conversation elsewhere then you know the person could be hiding something.
Again – most importantly, make sure that they are in the conversation when you asking them the questions, as they could have a thought pass through their mind and may react to that thought and not your question.
